The Foundation Hosts the Global Philanthropy Circle in Delhi

The Global Philanthropists Circle  (GPC) is a dynamic network of leading international philanthropists dedicated to eliminating poverty and increasing equity worldwide. It brings together many of the most respected individuals and families from every part of the globe who are committed to using their time, influence and resources to address some of the world's most significant problems.

The Global Philanthropists Circle was established in 2001 by Peggy Dulany and her father David Rockefeller. It helps people to become more strategic and effective in their philanthropy, to learn from each other and to connect their resources with great initiatives that address the needs of communities and that get at the root causes of these problems. Some of these philanthropists are already making social investments in India and others are interested in working here.

The visit by the GPC will give participants a unique opportunity to explore India, meet its people, and learn about its complex problems and some of the innovative development strategies undertaken to address them. They will also have a chance to see the work of Global Philanthropists Circle members (including projects by GPC members Richard Gere, Uday Khemka and Mike Murray), Synergos partners, as well as other development organizations. Participants will also have a chance to connect with leading figures in politics and civil society. India's rich spiritual and cultural tradition will also provide the context for more personal learning opportunities for the participants.
