The Khemka (Ashoka) Fellows
To support social entrepreneurs in India, the Foundation has partnered with Ashoka: Innovators for the Public . The Foundation will seek out and develop long term, the highest potential new ideas and the entrepreneurial leaders behind them in the fields of rural development, environment, media, children and youth. In this first year, the Foundation will support 3 Khemka (Ashoka) Fellows and sponsor their stipends of $18000 USD covering 3 years.
The Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation recognizes that Social Entrepreneurship is a great strategic lever for development. To spread awareness about the philosophy and latent power of social entrepreneurship the Foundation aims to:
- Invest in social entrepreneurs through the Khemka Fellowship
- Recognize and support social entrepreneurs through awards, fellowships, grants and other support mechanisms
- Create a social entrepreneur hub, which will be developed over time into a fund to leverage the most effective social entrepreneurs
