Lt. Gen. (Retired) Satish Chopra
Lt. Gen. (Retired) Satish Chopra is the Director of the Nabha Foundation and oversees the Foundation’s Health program. He is a decorated officer having served over 40 years with the Army and retired as Chief of Staff, Headquarters Eastern Command in May 2001.
Lt. Gen. (Retired) Chopra held various important command, staff and instructional appointments during his service. He commanded a Division in an insurgency area and his other assignments include General Staff officer at Division and Corps Headquarters; and instructor at the inter-service Defence Services Staff College, in Wellington (Tamil Nadu). During his last four years of service as Lieutenant General, besides looking after operational and logistics requirements of formations under command, he was also involved in many aid operations for the civil authorities.
The Lt. Gen. has a M.Sc. degree in Defence Studies from Madras University. He has also attended one-year-long courses at the College of Defence Management (Long Defence Management Course), Secunderabad and the Royal College of Defence Studies, United Kingdom.
